About Us
Welcome to the Galley Centre. We are a vibrant Christian
fellowship of around 100 adults and children. We meet at 3pm in the Kidsgrove
Community Centre on Sundays. The Galley was started by a group of Christians who had a shared
vision to create a ‘worshipping community’ on the ‘Miners estate’ in
Kidsgrove. The Galley was originally formed in the old Galley public house
on the Galley’s bank estate, Kidsgrove in Feb 2006. The building was
refurbished and used for nearly 10 months, by which time the group had
outgrown the size of the building and had to leave. The group have then continued to meet as the Galley church,
using first Kidsgrove Town Hall and then the Methodist Church building in
Kidsgrove centre as their base of worship. The Galley has recently signed a 3
year lease on the Kidsgrove Community Centre and is in the process of renovating

Our purpose is to glorify God by transforming lives and the
community through establishing a house of prayer and worship and by equipping
and releasing the body to reach out, proclaim the gospel, serve others and
bring restoration
